The DC School Behavioral Health Community of Practice (DC CoP) and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education held an online learning event to release DC’s 2019 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) results and to learn how to use this data to improve school behavioral health practices. The YRBS includes indicators of health-related behaviors and well-being of DC’s middle and high school students. The session will focus on improving data literacy - the ability to read, understand, create, and communicate data as information - in order to engage in effective data-driven decision making, monitor interventions, and measure outcomes in school behavioral health. This session is most relevant to those working in and with middle schools and high schools.
